Howdy,
Sending the last FFF for the year (be back in Jan), I thought about how chaotic this year was on many fronts - this week's finds gave me new ways to frame the world in the new year:
- EMBRACE & BRACE 'Uncertainty' became a daily reminder post-pandemic. Learning how to deal with it is going to be a forever skill.
- PRISON STREAM How streaming shapes the collective imagination is going to be something we discuss a lot more with over the next few years.
- PRINT IS IN As a person who still gets a printed newspaper, buys printed magazines and reads printed books, I feel validated and I encourage you to join the bandwagon.
- LOVE NEWS The financial incentive for doom scrolling is at an all-time high. Breaking that cycle is going to require some love.
- POETS MATTER Training data companies are grabbing writers of fiction, drama, poetry, and also general humanities experts to improve AI creative writing.
I am a big fan of markers of time - new years, equinoxes and solstices are all a way to breathe, reassess and press reset. Make the most of it. See y'all in 2024!
