five friday finds: gaming music, asian future, boredom

I skimmed a 48-pg report on global well-being while queueing up for scallion pancakes.

Y'all I'm shaking with excitement

That's because after 4 long years I'm back in my fav city in the whole world: Taipei. These are the finds that kept me occupied while I was queuing in lines for incredible food in this city:

  1. GAME MUSIC How video games are creating a new generation of classical music fans.
  2. INNER PEACE Even though we constantly feel like the world is burning, the majority of the global population (80%) reports “always” or “often” experiencing harmony with others. Deep dive report here.
  3. ASIA=FUTURE Citi reports Asia adopts new technologies 8-12 years ahead of the West, making it much like a time machine to the future. I've been telling you that forever.
  4. MIRROR IMAGE From mirrors to video calls and TikToks, we are constantly faced with our own reflections – and it is completely changing the way we conceive of ourselves.
  5. BOREDOM INDUSTRY How commuter boredom turned audiobooks into a billion-dollar industry.

If you haven't been to Taipei, start planning.
