five friday finds: Coaches everywhere, China's feminism, Aliens

Religion, art and aliens, but make it AI

Howdy folks,

I was on a blissful break the first half of the week. These are the finds that kept me occupied on train rides in Taiwan. I usually try to have a diverse set but it's becoming harder to see anything interesting in tech/culture without the word 'AI' in it - hopefully these are still curious to you:

  1. COACHES GALORE When bold claims promise to have all the answers—to success, to prosperity, to fulfillment—who doesn’t feel the pull?
  2. UNDETERRED “The unique thing about China’s feminism movement is that it almost entirely happens online.”
  3. AI RELIGION? It’s no accident — the intertwining of religion and technology is centuries old.
  4. AI DISGUST  How humans react to AI with disgust–reading it as off, not right, and unnatural—thereby limiting its intrusion into art and culture.
  5. AI-LIENS?  NASA wants to use AI to study unidentified aerial phenomenon.

Back from a short break I have very little desire to be outdoors. So my daughter and I have started an ambitious lego project.
